Hey y’all.
I’ve got some very exciting news to share with you. But before I do, let’s start with a story.
I’ve always enjoyed getting mail. EastBay or CCS catalogs, donation letters from a not-for-profit group, postcards from a friend traveling- you name it, I loved it. Yes, that even goes for marketing mail. Regardless of the product or service, I was fascinated by the design, offers, and copy.
Throughout the years, as I grew in the marketing profession, I still kept my infinity for tactile, tangible collateral.
Running campaigns for clients, I learned firsthand that direct mail campaigns are not the easiest to set up. Sure, anyone can handle one DM campaign periodically, but as you manage multiple campaigns, it gets challenging. As a marketing agency, we felt the pain. The process was too long, the quoting cycle too slow, and the attribution visibility was too archaic. There had to be a better way to do this, so we set out to find one.
But we didn’t jump into building an automated direct mail platform from the starting block. No, we kicked the tires on a few tools out there—some good, some not so good. But nothing really felt right for us. We valued keeping things simple and the ability to keep us in control, knowing when and where our pieces were through the mail life cycle and how the campaign was performing in real-time.
We also understood that our mail signals needed to live where our marketing, operations, and sales teams worked, so having a system that could connect to an ERP, CRM, or MarTech platform was a must.
Lastly, we knew marketing channels flipped from top-funnel touches to mid-funnel touches and back again. Direct mail needed to be just as easy to add to the campaign mix as leveraging email marketing or paid ads. It needed to be programmatic and work with an omnichannel campaign, not compete against it. Triggered & event-based marketing is here to stay.
So Jonathan and I got to work on building something to scratch our own itch, making direct mail a valuable player in our marketing playbook. After using the application in-house for two years, we’re stoked to put it on the market.
Introducing DirectMailer.io, the automated direct mail platform that puts you in the driver’s seat to:
